You do not have to name the city first. FareHalo starts from where you can leave, when you could travel, and how long the trip should be. Destination can stay open as Anywhere, or you can narrow to a region, a country, or a city — then the map shows where fares look unusual.
The opportunity map is not a conventional “from / to / exact dates” form. You choose an origin airport, one or more availability windows, and a trip-length range. Then you choose how open the destination is. The chips below are the same illustrative setup used on the FareHalo homepage.

Barcelona
BCN — an example origin, not a city-specific product page.
Windows and trip length
Destination scope
Windows and trip length are covered in flexible dates flight search. The destination step is what lets you scan without committing to one city.
Open Explore after you set those preferences. Priced destinations appear on the map with an indicative discovery fare. When comparable trips exist, a route-relative rating can appear. When they do not, the card stays Not yet rated and may still show distance value. FareHalo does not rate every destination on the map.

Illustrative examples — not live fares.
A worldwide Anywhere search does not always refresh every region in one go. Coverage can be partial; the UI says so when it is. Do not read a sparse map as “FareHalo searched the whole world and found nothing else.” Narrowing to a region or country is often the more complete scan for that area.
After you pick a destination, Check current fares validates that itinerary. Discovery fares stay indicative until then, and the seller total can still change. Cheap is not always a good deal — see cheap flight vs a good deal.
